What is it about the body in its rawest form that terrifies society?Screen Shot 2016-12-23 at 5.10.21 PM.png

Think about the first time you felt uncomfortable in your own skin. For whatever reason you felt your safety or security was compromised. How ridiculous is this? How ridiculous is it that our society is so dominated by sexualizing the human body, we become insecure about everything we do in regards to our bodies.

When was the last time you said you loved yourself?

When was the last time you appreciated your body?

Your body is not your possession. It is you, it is  your being.

So who has decided this standard of beauty?

Not only does society tell us to cover up more, but it sells us products, pills, and powders to make us thinner, tanner, “more beautiful”. Because people are no longer people, we are a market in which society feeds off our insecurity. We’re in-advertently made to feel inadequate in the eyes of the industry.

After all, isn’t that what you see in the magazines? Ways to “better” your appearance. And for what? So you can get into a relationship? So you can prove something to someone?

It is so unfortunate that in 2016, society still places more value on a person’s aesthetics vs. their passions or experiences or knowledge. It is so hard to develop meaningful relationships with substance and purpose as opposed to a friendship or relationship based on looks and popularity.

Your body is wonderful just the way it is, as long as YOU are happy with it, because when you’re comfortable with yourself, no one can tell you otherwise.

Don’t allow a world of photoshop to convince you that you are anything less than incredible.

(Pictures not mine)

lots and lots of love,

p.s. sorry about the lack of posts, but I’m back and ready to go.
